I6th through 21st – Prayers for the Earth Journey, Ireland-England-Sweden-Denmark-Holland.  A person note: Some of life’s experiences are impossible to describe in words; our first “spiritual” experience, initial glimpse of the ocean, making love for the first time, holding your first born child, becoming a grandparent, and for me recently, spending 24 hours a day with my teacher’s teachers, the last of the Inka elders, on a magical journey for healing Mother Earth and all her inhabitants.  Don Umberto and Dona Bernadina, two elders of the Q’ero Nation; Don Francisco, the political and spiritual leader of the Q’eros; and Chino, Alberto Villoldo’s godson and a shaman who walks both the ancient ways and the modern ways spent 2 weeks on a whirlwind tour of Europe with Wake Wheeler and myself, ending with a 5 days in a Dutch castle.  These timeless weeks of ceremony, laughing, loving, joking, eating, and exploring deepened the Work of ISS in a profound way that we hope we will be able to convey to you over time.  So, FOR A NUMBER OF MONTHS, EACH ISS NEWSLETTER WILL CONTAIN A STORY ABOUT A PRAYER FOR THE EARTH EXPERIENCE OR TWO.  Allen

 Some of the facts:

1. Five public ceremonies in five countries averaging more than 200 participants each.
   
   
2. Ceremony and sharing with three shaman training classes with over 200 shamans-to-be.
   
   
3. A first ever three day workshop featuring ceremony and training with the Q’ero Elders, in which ISS and stories about the Staff played a secondary and yet well received role.
   
   
4. Visiting seven ancient sacred sites with impromptu ceremony among the standing stones.  Intention featured reconnection with the Ancient Ones, healing for all those present and the planet, and when appropriate the invocation of the new energies and consciousness now available.
   
   
5. Countless beautiful people who opened their hearts, their homes, their dining rooms, their extra bedrooms, their restaurants, their time, their cars, their beings to the Q’ero, Wake, ISS, and me.
   
   
6. More than 1,200 people approached the Great Staff with joyful solemnity and transferred thousands of heartfelt prayers into ISS for safe keeping, compilation with 1,000s of other intentions for the Pacha Mama, and distribution around the planet.
   
   
7. Hundreds of heads turned, curiosities peaked, hopefully minds opened, and hearts warmed by the incongruous sight of four short, traditionally dressed, Peruvian shaman walking side by side, often laughing and hand in hand, with a very tall Norwegian/Swedish/American toting a huge ceremonial Staff.
   
   
8. More than 165 physical Staffs transferred into the hands of new Friends of ISS, left in all the countries visited and destined for France, Algeria, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Lithuania, and beyond.
   
   
9. Hundreds of psychological, spiritual and energetic Staffs “planted” within the hearts, minds, chakras, and backbones of grateful new Friends as they journeyed with stories of the Staff’s heritage and mission.
   
   
10. Staffs planted and radiating the energies of the New Epoch at a castles in Ireland and Holland and ancient sites standing stone in England, Sweden, and Holland. 
    
    
11. Staffs planted by new Friends in downtown London, Reading University, a green house at the center of the Botanical Garden in Stockholm, in the woods on the outskirts of Copenhagen, and at the Sacred Fire pit in Castle Berktl, Barlo, Holland.
    
    
    

10th – Glastonbury, England.  A place where legend, myth, reality and literal fact come together in a hearty, magical “stew” of inspiration, awe, wisdom and truth ( see http://www.crystalinks.com/glastonburytor.html ).  Chalice Hill, next to the large “breast of the Pacha Mama” called the Hill of Tor, is the hiding place of the Holy Grail according to legend.  Until last century, two wells, one running clear or “white,” the other “red,” flowed off the Hill very near each other.  The red spring is usually taken as the “Feminine well,” the life giving blood of the Mother, Pacha Mama.  The white can be seen as the “Masculine well,” the life initiating semen of the Father, Inti Tai Tai.  Until last century, the flowing waters of the two sacred wells came together in harmonic unity, making their way off the Hill together, an inspritational tribute and invocation to the sacred union of the Feminine and Masculine.

Modern western man, in his adoration of progress and the cult of the machine, laid an asphalt road over the exact location of the sacred union, splitting the Mother and the Father and banishing them to opposite sides of the lifeless path deemed so essential by our modern world.

Unity and Diversty is one keynote of the 5th Sun.  We believe that all humans and all beings here on planet earth share an essential oneness and are all valuable to the One Creator.  ISS, as a symbol and embodiment of the now unfolding New Era, called the 5th Sun by the Inka, champions rediscovery and honoring of unity whereever it travels.  At this sorrowful spot so symbolic of modern societies treatment of the Sacred Feminine and the unity of masculinity and femininity, a Staff ceremony emerged to, at least for a timeless moment, restore the sacred union.

Blocking the traffic and creating a temporary alter in the center of the street where the red and white waters used to come together, the Great Inka Sun Staff, held by Chris and Allen, female and male representatives of the Universal Feminine and Masculine, stood tall and glistened golden.  Dona Bernadina went to the red well and gathered a cup of “Blood of Pacha Mama.”  Don Umberto, her husband, did the same with the “Semen of Inti Tai Tai, Father Sun.”  They brought the waters to the center of the street, pouring them over the Staff, where they ran free and united once again.  People watching from their automobiles and villagers gathered with their empty water jugs seemed to sense the sacredness and extraordinary potency of the shared ritual conducted by people of three continents.

2. Sun and Earth Day Ceremony Report – Autumnal Equinox, 2004

 

25th – Southern California, New England, Western Europe.  Just back from Europe holding thousands of new Prayers for the Earth, the Great Staff and Friends of ISS of all ages participated in a beautiful Despacho and Fire Ceremony on a warm evening near Los Angeles.  Three thousand miles away in Connecticut, Wake Wheeler and the Q’ero Elders held a ceremony offering the Andean Rites of the Time to Come with numerous progeny Staffs present.  Many simultaneous individual and group ceremonies occurred around North American and Europe.

Emails and telephone calls shared best wishes and told of intentions to participate.  Locations included Maine, Maryland, British Columbia, Holland, Sweden, and Germany.  The loving energy of such a divese, strong and growing group of Friends of ISS was certainly felt by celebrants in Southern California and surely by those around the planet

II. NETWORKING

1. The Prayers for the Earth journey, sponsored by The Four Winds Society (see http://www.thefourwinds.com/ ), continued our excellent relationship with this group that trains modern day shamans and does philanthropic and research in the Andes.  We are very appreciative of their invitation on the Prayers trip and for our ongoing relationship.
   
   
2. Connection with the Ancient Ones and the Stone People of Ireland, England, Sweden, Denmark and Holland.  The heritage of the Staff and its Friends predates the existence of Plant People, Animal People and of course humans (see http://inkasunstaff.org/GoldenTear.html ).  Made of metal, the Staff is a “Stone Person.”  For these reasons and more, one important ISS “networking” project is traveling the world and reconnecting with ancient, sacred physical sites where great Stone People have their home and other Ancient Ones “live and move and have their being.”  The goal is vitalizing and deepening the already existing relationship of all Stone People and all the kingdoms here in/on Pacha Mama, our beautiful planet earth.
   

   
   
   

   III. COMING UP –

 

 Allen - Is there a general initiation ceremony a person can do with the ISS progeny that you have sent out?  I keep mine with my mesa… Would like to do that with small groups that come to my Light Home for meditation.  I also would like to hold a small ceremony to do some of what Celeste K. speaks about with the women.  Let me know and thanks.  Oh yes, I've had  a peace pole for years planted in the backyard of my home--been there 17 years radiating through the earth.  Any suggestions for ISS ceremony--even for myself as 1 person would assist me--I feel the staff wants to work and be connected.  Love,  Rev. Dear Adara.  All Staffs have been initiated with the original Modern Inka Sun Staff in a ceremony at one of the ceremonial sites we use here in Southern California ( see photo at http://inkasunstaff.org/obtain2.htm ).  In the transmission ritual, the lineage of the Staff, all the way back to the Golden Tear of Inti Tai Tai bringing new life here on earth ( see http://inkasunstaff.org/GoldenTear.html ), through two Children of the Sun founding a new civilization with a Golden Staff gifted from Father Sun ( see http://inkasunstaff.org/First.html ), to the injunction in the Q’ero Nation’s oral tradition to “come off the mountain and teach modern western people their ways” ( see http://inkasunstaff.org/5thSun.html ) are radiated by the Great Staff and embodied by the progeny Staffs.  So we consider all Staff imitated before we offer them to Friends.

However, we also strongly encourage each new Friend to have their own individual and/or group introduction and intiation ceremony.  This can be done in any way you sense is appropriate.  For instance, keeping it with your mesa entunes it with your spirit and path.  People have put it out in Nature for a week or month to introduce it to their area. Others have brought the group for which the Staff is one ceremonial object together for an induction ceremony.  Barry slept with the Great Staff one night before he became a caretaker, and Allen kept the Great Staff in his tent while trekking in Peru.

A reminder.  The only guideline or “rule” we have about use of the Staff is that it is used in a sacred way, as defined by you, your group, and your Spirit Allies (see http://inkasunstaff.org/Ceremony.html and http://inkasunstaff.org/Uses.html .  Unlike religions, we encourage creativity along with individual and group expression in your ongoing personal and transpersonal work with the Staff. 

All this being said, we have discussed having a skeleton initiation ceremony and some suggestions about uses to send with Staffs available.  For now, the website is what we have to offer.  Except of course, direct communication.  So for more info, email or call us.  Allen and Barry.
