 1. Winter Solstice Ceremony
Sun and Earth Day, December, 2004

Don Francisco’s huge Condor feather cleanses and blesses each participant and rests majestically on the alter as the Great Staff stands nearby.  200 smaller Staffs are laid out by everyone present in a beautiful array that leads from the Great Staff and the initiation site to the fire pit.  Group and individual blessings for the Staffs with rattling, drumming, burning sage, other incense, and chanting call for the Spirit of the Staff and all Its experiences to fill and enliven each baby Staff.   A rich, deep orange, mellow Fire Ceremony wrapped in the energy of the Pacha Mama follows.

After a threatened storm changes our plans from an overnight Ceremony and Shaman’s Faire to a honed down traditional Fire Ceremony, a wonderful group met at Garfield Park in mild, dry weather for a beautiful Fire. 
  
NEW iss PROJECT INITIATED:  Allen opened a 9 month Inka Sun Staff introspection, journeying, prophecy reading and divination period for all Friends of the Staff and all Staffs.  This extended individual and community calling and contacting the Wisdom of Spirit will conclude at the Winter Soltice, December 2005.  Please email any ideas and information that comes to you during the 9 months about the Work of ISS.  Please NOTE and JOIN the Great Staff and Allen at an all night Sacred Plant of the Amazon (we can’t use the full word that starts with Aya… on the internet) Ceremony whose purpose is the connect with the highest Destiny of ISS.  Please join ISS and Allen if you feel so lead.
  
Basking in the glow of the Fire and having chanted, healed ourselves and prayed with the Great Staff, a direct connection with the Spirit of the Staff is invoked and Allen leads an individual and community journey with the great Spirit Ally of the Andes, Condor.  Don Francisco’s sacred feather and Condor lifts us high above the present time and place toward a vision of luminous threads of possibility.  In a silence broken only by the fluttering of Condor feathers, we explore various possible futures for…



Third in a Series of Detailed Accounts of the
“Prayers for Earth” 2004 European Tour 

September 19 – Hunebedden, Holland.  SUMMARY.  We travel 5 hours round trip by car to commune with and do ceremony at one of 54 related standing stone sites in Holland and Western Germany.  We find this public site with a museum nearby to be out of balance and dim.  The shamans and the rest of us do ceremony with the Great Staff and other ISS that seems to harmonize and lighten the beautiful site (for a picture see http://www.oostermoer.net/hunebeddeninformatiecentrum/ ).  A baby Staff is planted in the forest nearby. 

September 19 – Hunebedden, Holland.  INDEPTH DESCRIPTION.  This journey is the last ancient site visit before our return home and proved to be quite different (see descriptions at http://www.inkasunstaff.org/Newsletter_OCT04.htm and the December Newsletter at http://www.inkasunstaff.org/Newsletter.html )  and very instructive for the Work of the Staff.  Most of us, particularly the Q’ero, felt the site was not open or inviting and were slow to enter and relate to the area.  Individually and in small groups we deliberately walked around the space and eventually approached the standing stones.  Each person in his or her own way was tracking and sensing the energy of the Spirits of the Land and the Spirits of the ceremonial standing stones that archeologists say was a burial site.  (Many standing stone sites were burial sites so that aspect was not unusual.)   Eventually Allen placed the Great Staff about 20 yards away from the entrance to the stones, out of the clearing that surrounds the landmark, and in the forest, to begin an introduction and harmonizing process.  The energy seemed to begin flowing somewhat. 
 
Continued attempts to get to know and connect with the site brought a variety of suggestions and feelings to our group of 10.  At this point many of us thought it would be helpful to place the Great Staff in the center of the Stones.  Paprika and Per felt strongly that the site did not want this intrusion, at this time at least.  A wonderful, spirited sharing about what we could or should do culminated in a consensus planting and ritual described in the next paragraph.
 
The Great Staff was walked forward from Its distant location in the forest toward the opening of the Stones.  Chino and Allen found a spot about 8 yards from the opening of the stones.  Chino had us stand in a circle in silent invocation and prayer.  {For instance, I (Allen) personally connected with the great Sacred Mountains of the Andes who are great Spirit Allies of the Staff and can be considered the “standing stones” of Don Francisco, Chino and the Q’ero.  I then asked, if it was in the highest good of all concerned, for connecting and harmonizing energy to flow between the great Stone People of the two continents (the Andean Apus, this Standing Stone site, and the string of 54 sites) .  [Note that the Staff is an ideal tool for “connecting, directing, and harmonizing” energies].  Other group members offered their own silent “prayers for the earth.”}   Each person took some time at the Great Staff and soon the sun shone through an overcast sky after hours of being obscured.  (see photo below of Don Francisco holding his mesa over the Staff and praying with the standing stones).




 
Some experience gained and guidance for future ceremonies:

        1. It appears to be essential to ask the Spirits of the Land and the Spirits of the local site at least two questions: Is this a good time for us to do any ceremony here? What do you want from us today?  How can we assist your mission, your work, and your life today?
        2. Listening carefully, preconceptions and expectations put aside, with deep heartfelt receptivity for Their response.
        3. Proceeding only after some inner, intuitive registration of an “OK” and some inner guidance about what type of ceremony is wanted and needed.
        4. All locations, and even days or times of the day at the same site, are different and may call for different approaches, ceremonies and activities.
        5. More than one Friend of ISS present can enhance the creativity, possibilities, helpfulness, and effectiveness of the event.
        6. Honest, heartfelt discussion of feelings, impressions, “tracking,” thoughts, and suggestions is important.
        7. Flowing, harmonious energy in the group is significant for optimal, healing energy work.  So, the process of striving toward consensus about the ceremony is an important aspect of the overall sacred energy work. 
        8. Each person’s impressions about the site are valuable.  This means mine are important and everyone else’s are important, equally important.
        9. In the end, the person or persons facilitating or leading the group (determined in different ways at different times) need to collate the info and make a loving, group centered decision to proceed.  In this situation at Hunebedden, Chino, consulting with the Q’ero, and Allen, consulting with the Wake and the Europeans, made the final choices, with resulting group approval and support.



2. Networking
 

The Q’ero and the ISS have been invited to Australia for and cultural exchange.  We are in communication with Uncle Eric, Elder of the aboriginal Bundjalung Nation in eastern Australia about a journey to his homeland, lodge and sacred peak for a week or two of cultural interaction, story telling and ceremony some time later this year.  Details to follow as they unfold.

Ceremonies ISS Sun and Earth Day FIRE Ceremony

Allen and Barry and any Friends of ISS in Southern California for the day will come together to celebrate the Winter Solstice, one of our four primary “Sun and Earth Days” (What is Sun and Earth Days?  see http://inkasunstaff.org/WorldPrayerDay.htm). 
 
The location is yet to be determined.  Date may change to the previous weekend to allow more physical attendance.
 
Whether or not you can physically join the Staffs in Southern California, of course you are an important part of the ISS Winter Solstice Ceremony by way of your loving intention and non-local participation.  Thank You.

 New 9 Month ISS Destiny Tracking Project

We have opened an new Inka Sun Staff introspection, journeying, prophecy reading and divination period for all Friends of the Staff and all Staffs.  This extended individual and community calling and contacting the Wisdom of Spirit will conclude at the Winter Solstice, December 2005.
 
Please consider using you own tracking, intuition, meditation, and divination methods from now to the Winter Solstice to access information about highest destiny for your:

  • individual life
  • destiny with your Inka Sun Staff(s) and your connection with the Work of ISS

Also consider tracking the luminous threads of possible futures for:

  • the highest Destiny of ISS, including but not limited to
    • the cosmic Spirit/Energy/Being that ensouls the Inka Sun Staff
    • Barry and Allen and everyone past, present and future who are Friends of the Staff
    • the literal, physical Staff itself.  Specifically the Great Staff and all Staffs  past, present, and future which combine to form one extended, planetary incarnated physical body.
  • the 5th Sun, the new consciousness and possibilities that the Universal Masculine is unfolding in response to the call of the Pacha Mama, in service of the Vision of the Great Spirit for the evolution of consciousness here on our beloved planet.

I was feeling a little put out that I would not be able to join on the evening of the 26th for the Memorial Fire for Don Manuel. I was away from home in Michigan. I  did a small ceremony with a candle in the early morning and it was very moving for me. In the evening when the moon came out big and round it had great shafts of light that came off from it in 4 directions like a  huge Southern Cross. I watched it for several hours and invited my family to view it as well. It seemed as if the Southern Cross had come to the Northern Hemisphere on that night. The magic of this work always amazes me.

As you know, the Work of ISS is not primarily about the Staff, as wonderful and helpful as the Staff is.  The Mission of ISS is doing our part in calling, grounding, being and living the 5th Sun, the New Consciousness now available for all humans and all our relations here on/in Mother Earth, Pacha Mama.  Rick Ellis (ellis@islandnet.com), a deeply connected Friend of the Staff and advocate for the 5th Sun, offers this poem for the Pacha Mama, the 5th Sun and all of us.  Thanks for much Rick.

    The 8 staffs arrived safe and sound.   I have a friend who lives in Shelburne Falls, MA--which is supposed to be where the lay lines for all North America meet. My hope is to bury a staff there in the spring. Should I be able to do this, is there any particular words or prayer you would like me to convey on behalf of the ISS team???
