Dedication and Vision

In an inspiring declaration on June 20, 2003 at the newly excavated Temple of the Moon in the "Sacred Valley of the Inkas" near Urubamba, Peru, medical anthropologist Dr. Alberto Villoldo recounted the coming of the original Inka Staff from ancient lore. Before 50 pilgrims to Mt. Ausangate and Mt. Salkantay, Inka Holy Mountains, he went on to describe the purpose, abilities, and activities of a modern form of the ancient ceremonial walking stick and scepter.

At the time of the origins of the Inka Empire, a golden Staff came to the original Inka ruler who planted it into the earth at the site that became the capital of the Inka Empire and is now the modern city of Cusco, Peru. The Staff's great ability and highest purpose was to designate, birth, and potentiate a new civilization, the site of a new unfolding of human history. This has happened four times, resulting in four new civilizations, or four Suns.

According to Q’ero and Hopi elders and many other indigenous leaders, humanity is now in a momentous time of planetary transition from the 4th to the 5th Sun. This newest incarnation of the Sun’s purpose and energy, however, is not about a particular place, a new city, or an emerging nation as it was in the past.The next Pachakuti, the Inka word for a human epoch, will not be a new empire. Rather the next human epoch will be characterized by the invocation and reception of new consciousness available to all humanity. It offers the possibility of the “end of the world as we know it” and the emergence of a “new kind of human being.” The opportunity exists for each of us to find a way of life with a more loving heart, a keener more intuitive mind, and an expanded consciousness. The opportunity awaits each of us to become “light beings.”  New ways of thinking, feeling, healing, loving, teaching, acting, following, leading, working, relating, and governing are ripe for the picking. Each of us can help “bring balance and beauty to the Earth” and a “world where our children can live in peace.”

It is fitting that this dedication ceremony takes place in The Temple of the Moon that is devoted to germination and fertility. A new consciousness is dawning and this Golden Staff planted among us here today is designed for and dedicated to attracting and anchoring these energies into the Pacha Mama (Spirit of the Earth) for all beings on this planet to access and use wisely. “As guardians of the Inka Sun Staff, Allen and Barry will travel the world with the scepter,” and as we are doing here today, “bring the energy of the new Sun into the Earth. Each location where the Staff enters the Pacha Mama can become a more powerful and sacred place where the new consciousness exists in greater concentration,” continually invoking and radiating the energy of the 5th Sun.

Each person that touches, and is touched by, the Inka Sun Staff can become a heart and a mind that invokes and radiates the incoming consciousness. Friends of the Staff become a Sun Staff themselves as they attract and ground the powerful new incoming energies. This is the promise of the Inka Sun Staff Community. This is the destiny of the Golden Scepter. This is a mission we all can all participate in by combining our particular energies and abilities.
